]]> For a start what the hell are they? Well you’ve probably seen them a million times before, but perhaps not aware of the name. Google Doodles are the ever changing images on the Google search homepage. Usually they change corresponding to special days, remembrance of famous people in history etc. Sometimes Google will invite schools to design their own Google Doodle and submit it to them. Here’s some examples of previous Doodles that have been featured:

So After much speculation about what Google’s being doing recently with the featuring the UFO Google Doodle image for more than a day and it changing which letter had been abducted, today it’s become apparent what this Doodle relates to. Some people on web boards were speculating that Google was perhaps launching a new product, others that it marks the 40 year mystery convention. Anyway today, finally cleared up all the speculation the UFO doodle (as pictured below) is to commemorate known other than H.G. Well’s birthday who was born on September 21st 1866, in Bromley, Kent, England. Phew!
