2012 Search Predictions - Revelations or Just Rehashing The Same Old?

Late December and Early January Search Industry blogs were a wash with their predictions for 2012. Visiting all the usual blogs, and it soon became apparent that most of the industry experts had either been paying the same fortune tellers, in which case they might want see if they can get a refund, or that everyone had unanimously decided to rehash what they say every year but just mention Google+ a bit more. Predicting what's going to be major in search for 2012, is a bit like predicting that the weather in ...

To start the week off, here’s an article I’ve just written on:article writing and submissionWriting articles is not only a good way to give your visitor stats a bit of a kick up the backside, but it can also be very fulfilling and rewarding, seeing something you’ve worked on published online. Also if it proves useful to other people and provides them with something they didn’t know previously, then you’ve got more chance of getting them on your subscribed to list, and them becoming a customer. Also, it’s very worthwhile tracking your visitors to the site through google analytics, webstats, or other analytical and tracking tools to see where you’re traffic is coming from. This will then give you an idea on what areas you need to focus on, in order to get more visitors to the site and ultimately more customers. Testing and tracking are vital factors and how you act upon this data will determine just how successful your blog is going to be. As so much time is going to be devoted to writing, research, and analysis it’s important to choose a niche where you will have the energy and inclination to fulfill all these aspects. Don’t choose something which bores you to death, choose a niche which you’ve got some interest in. Seeing your niche blog site grow from something that was getting maybe 10 visitors a day to even a 100 will inspire you to keep at. If time is an issue, outsource the article writing to someone capable and make sure you get them to submit to lots of different directories on a regular basis. Not only will it provide you with a good backlink, but also people will take an interest and perhaps click through to your site. Then it’s up to you on how you want to direct them after that.

Lately it seems all the mail in my inbox seems to be from internet marketers wanting to tell me about their latest product that they’re flogging. I understand this and I’m totally fine with it, usually I only just skim the first paragraph and if it doesn’t attract my attention further I don’t bother reading on. But it’s when the emailing gets too much and they start sending you a couple a day. Also everyone seems to follow the same format, in their emails and landing pages which I think does make people a little skeptical. Even if your message is delivered to near perfection, and you’ve got the most amazing copy, if it just looks like everyone else’s design format then surely that sends out a message that you’re just the same as everybody else – no?
Also in the emails, you occassionally get over inflated claims of earnings, e.g. I made $1000 in 5 Hrs with this product – You can do the same. Nowadays with Photo Shop it’s kinda easy to doctor these paypal and adsense statements. So it kinda makes you wonder, who really is telling the truth? For now I’ve decided to ignore these emails and concentrate on my own thing, and come back to all the forums when I’ve made my first online million. Then it might be me sending you all those emails and wondering why no one is buying my Info products.

So a new month and a new workload. Looking forward a lot to some exciting projects I’ve had come in. I’m currently working on an SEO project for a client wanting to be up on the first pages for not too competitive keywords. So it shouldn’t be too hard. He was using a cowboy SEO outfit before, who haven’t seem to have done a lot, apart from call him up and have lengthy chats. lol! They didn’t even add a robots.txt!

So as I’m going to be doing a bit of link building next week on behalf of my client, I’d thought I’d share with you my top 3 link building techniques:
1.Ezinearticles.com Great for writing about your niche, getting a basis article done and perhaps spinning it to to other similiar sites with different variations on the original article of course.
2. Go into Google finding dead and old domains,
find out who they got links off, quick email to the webmaster and bam you got their old link.
3. Using Web 2.0 sites. Set up a profile on a high PR site, anything as random as http://democracyforamerica.org. Then simply place a link to your site in an about section. Easy Peasey.

Although everyone moans about how tedious link building can be, it’s not that bad once you get into it. It just one of life’s little chores that we have to do. But results speak for themselves!

Apologies for this somewhat lacklustre post, my current work schedule has not really given me much time to update this blog. But I promise there shall be some great content coming in the forthcoming weeks.
Meanwhile, I received a good email from Hobo SEO about a cool WP plugin called RSS Footer by Joost de Valk.
If you’re worried about people stealing content from your site, then at least you can get something back in the way of link and acknowledgement with this cool plugin

So it’s been a bit quiet on the blogging front, mainly because I’m catching up on bits and pieces and even did some link building myself today, weird. I don’t want to jinx anything just yet, and I have been having some shitty luck of late, but the next few months set to be promising and hopefully should see a bit more of the NJAMS brand expanding slightly in a way not too dissimilar to sucking your beer gut in when a really hot girl walks by and then releasing it once she’s gone. On the other blogging front, I’m still keeping the SEO blog going and updating twice weekly, so have a read of that as well if and when the urge falls upon you.

Apart from that all is tickety-boo. How’s it with you?

I’ve made a decision, and that is to not waste so much bloody time in tweaking this blog with the coding.
As it stands WYSIWYG, and I ain’t doing no more changing to it. It just results in too much wasted time, and diverts me from what I should be doing and this is promoting it and getting the word out that about my new blog. I’ve decided to undertake all the SEO on myself, as I usually do. But it’s been slightly delayed by the fact I’ve had so much other stuff going on as well with projects coming in left right and center. It’s been a very hectic week. But I feel I’ve got at least some things achieved. The astute amongst you will have noticed there are new titles in the menu bar being put up. I have added an articles sections where I’ve just posted some short stuff I’ve done on Squidoo and Ezines. These are only my hobby articles if you will, and get quite lazy with them sometimes so apologies for any grammatical mistakes and/or mis-spellings. My main work is SEO content writing and I’ve written content for websites for some big companies such as Toshiba as well as for many SMEs. Unfortunately, I can’t post any of these articles on this site for obvious duplicate content reasons. But you’ll just have to take my word that my writing is s*** hot. For now I really needed to get off this computer screen, as I’m starting to have minor hallucinations which can never be good.
Till next time.

So after experimenting with a couple of themes, I finally decided upon DynaBlue, an awesome theme from John@webdesignlessons.com, check out the link on the bottom of the page.  It gets my vote for ease of use, without having to mess about to much with the php.  I shall be making tweaks and changes to the theme, so be sure to check back for my progress on this.  Meanwhile, I’m working on the main site to accompany this blog which will give you more insight into what NJAMS is about.  And the opportunity to enlist my services for getting your niche blog sites better rankings and more traffic through the natural listings.

P,S Using wordpress is so much more easier and intuitive than other blog software such as blogware.  I’ve still got a blog, using blogware.  But, one is limited in the theme designs available, and it’s a bit of a nightmare to say the least the way everything is set out and also not that great for customization.  So, all in all WordPress totally kicks Blogware’s ass, which I knew it would do.
