Effective marketing in a global economic downturn Perhaps I'm posting this a year too late, I don't know, but even though many analysts are saying that 2010 is the year that we will see many countries moving out of current ongoing economic crises and...

Getting traffic to your blog site with article

There’s nothing more disheartening than spending time producing fantastic content for your niche blog, only to find that no one is reading it. It can prompt many to throw in the towel, especially if it keeps on happening. But, like anything else it requires perseverance and perhaps a little luck as well. If you have a blog site that’s already getting a lot of traffic on a regular basis, then you may find little promotion is needed elsewhere. But, I believe one should always be pushing for more traffic than they had on the previous days. There’s always ways to get a few more visitors to your site. Many internet marketers will tell you that the best way of driving traffic to your site is through writing and submitting articles to various directories. They wouldn’t be wrong either in this advice, and it is a great way of getting more unique visitors to your site. The important thing is to get in a good habit of writing a new article fortnightly with your targeted keywords and a link to the page you want people to be directed to. Also, if you’re going to submit to a variety of different directories it’s a good practice to vary the articles a little: be it the syntax of the sentences or choice of words. I personally like ezinearticles and goarticles.com, although with goarticles they can be a little slower in the review process and actually publishing your articles online.

How long should your articles be?

Of course you don’t want to write an essay when you’re writing articles; the reader won’t have the time or patience to read through a 2,000 word submission. Instead, try to focus on making your articles short and sweet and with the main points in the first couple of paragraphs. Believe me, your reader will appreciate a shorter article rather than an in-depth critical analysis piece. Stylize your article according to what others are doing on the chosen article directory site. Are they breaking their writing up into sub-headed paragraphs or just leaving it as a free-flowing large body of text. What fonts are they using for the body and headers? In regards to the length of the actual article something between 250 and 500 words is really enough. Of course you can go over this limit if you want, but I wouldn’t write more than 750 in any given articles. We all know that Google loves content, but the last thing you want to do is make your readers feel like they’re starting to read a Tolstoy novel.

Check before submitting

Give your article a final read through to make sure it flows well, and there’s not too many spelling and punctuation/grammar mistakes. A few is okay, as most people will be paying more attention to the actual content rather than the trivialities. Saying that it’s just good form to make sure you give your article a read through before hitting the submit button. If you feel your content is worthy to have it’s own page and will attract a lot of readers, then why not create your own Squido lens or Hub page? Again there are many more sites where you can have almost a mini-site with your very best content on it. You should devote a couple hours each week to writing and submitting to social portal sites and article submission sites. In no time at all your rankings for the keywords targeted will be on the up, as will your traffic. Here’s to your article writing success!
